After spending a few days with my buddy Rob in Calgary. It was time to get ready for the long journey across
the country to Ontario for a visit with my family. It was Bianca's first time driving across Canada but for me, my 6th.
So I knew what to expect... a long tiring journey.
We first made a stop to one of the worlds biggest Dinosaur Museum; Royal Tyrrell in Drumheller.
Drumheller is a couple hours outside Calgary. I visited the museum many years ago. I remembered
it being pretty interesting and knew Bianca would be excited to check it out. With over 40 dinosaur skeletons
and more than 110000 fossil specimens, it's a cool place to check out. (www.tyrrellmuseum.com)
Driving across Canada
Only 3500 kilometers to go!
We buckled our seat belts, cranked some tunes and go ready for a long long journey.
The sky was clear as we cruise east with the Silver Rocket; our toyota previa van.
Driving across Canada is not the most exciting journey. As soon as you leave Calgary
the scenery starts with thousands km of flat farm land; the prairies. Oil rigs left and right in Alberta,
Barns and never ending farm land in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and long straight Trans - Canada highway.
The sun shone for us the entire way which made our drive more enjoyable.
We drove over 800 km per day and slept at rest areas at night.
The last stretch in Ontario is the worst part. Remotely deep in the forest with speed limit dropping to 90 km/ hour
due to many wildlife. Deers tend to come out at night
along the highway making the driving even more dangerous. After several hours into the
darkness, I didn't want to hit a deer so we stopped early to rest up for an early start.
Bianca wasn't too impressed when we got behind a redneck pick up and noticed a dead
moose in the back of his trailer... yap... Ontario is hunting world. We finally arrived in Ottawa, Ontario
after 4 nights and 5 days, we were looking forward to a warm shower and get out of the seats.
For some reasons. every time I cross Canada, I swear never to do it again... and now for the 6th time.
Going East...
Silver rocket ready for 3500 km mission to Ontario.
We should have more of those around our country!
And less of these...
East bound...
The little house in the prairies.
Lonely tree.
Sweet ride.
It was a spectacular scene to see thousands of Canadian Goose birds flying south.
Giant mini wheats.
Farmer's world...
Sunrise over the massive Lake Superior near Thunder Bay, Ontario.

It was nice to be back in Jasper on the exact date that Calixte and I left 4 years ago
- sept 29th 2007 - on the (www.calalmission.blogspot.com) I hadn't seen Cal in 3 years so
it was good to catch up. Unfortunately the weather wasn't blue bird. Mostly cold, grey and wet.
We spent most of our time editing images and drinking coffee at Cal's.
But we still got to enjoy a nice walk in Maligne Canyon, a good run at Point Old Fort,
a scenic cruise to Pyramid lake, eat Coco's amazing breakfast Burritos.
We saw 2 moose! coyote and elks.
And a fun drive to Maligne lake in Cal's new Mitshubishi Eclipse sports car...
Overall... not a bad 4 day visit in Jasper National Park.
Pyramid Lake in Jasper under grey clouds, rain, cold... yes it's the rockies.

travel stories, thanks guys!!! if you google my name in their search engine, you can read my articles.
Finally we were on our way south on the Icefield Parkway. they weather was still very cloudy and wet. But
had a few windows here and there for a more scenic drive then expected.
